How To Pretect Yourself From Ebola

Is no long news that Ebola is fast spreading across West Africa thereby causing panic and pain, even throw scientist off balance seeking for solutions. Since no licensed vaccine for Ebola virus is available though several vaccines are being tested, but none are available for clinical use, prevention is absolute way out. Here are preventing measure that should be taken:

1. Recognizing the symptoms of Ebola:

Early on, Ebola can feel like the flu or other illnesses. Symptoms show up 2 to 21 days after infection and usually include:
  • High fever
  • Headache
  • Joint and muscle aches
  • Sore throat
  • Weakness
  • Stomach pain
  • Lack of appetite

 2. Avoid direct contact with infected people.

Ebola is introduced into the human population through close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected animals. In Africa, infection has been documented through the handling of infected chimpanzees, gorillas, fruit bats, monkeys, forest antelope and porcupines found ill or dead or in the rainforest.

Ebola then spreads in the community through human-to-human transmission, with infection resulting from direct contact (through broken skin or mucous membranes) with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected people, and indirect contact with environments contaminated with such fluids. Burial ceremonies in which mourners have direct contact with the body of the deceased person can also play a role in the transmission of Ebola. Men who have recovered from the disease can still transmit the virus through their semen for up to 7 weeks after recovery from illness.

3. Wash your hands frequently:

As with other infectious diseases, one of the most important preventive measures is frequent hand-washing. Use soap and sanitizer like.

4. Follow infection-control procedures:

If you're a health care worker, wear protective clothing, such as gloves, masks, gowns and eye shields. Keep infected people isolated from others. Dispose of needles and sterilize other instruments.

5. For those that work in public place:

People working in public place like schools, Hotels and etc there ebola control measure should start at there gate. No one should allow to enter into there premises without using Non-ContactDigital Infrared Surface Thermometer to know there health status and that person should be given hand sanitizer.
